Ring and pinion swaps are ideal in many situations. They restore lost power when large, oversized tires are installed on your vehicle. They add power for vehicles whose main use is for towing or hauling heavy loads. Or they can improve your engine to tire ratio for better rock crawling capabilities or better fuel economy. The reasons are plenty that a ring and pinion gear swap will greatly improve any factory altered vehicle's performance and save drivetrain components (ie: u-joints, transmissions, etc) which may be under higher stress levels than when the vehicle was stock.
For use on GM 12-bolt (8.875") axles. This is a thick gear set that works on a 3.42 and numerically lower case.
